Did you know that Europe emits around 4.8 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year? A major blow to the environment, right?

Now picture a world where the cities' air is cool, clean, and crisp, oceans that stay blue, and forests that thrive. It seems impossible, right, in a world filled with carbon emissions?

Well, Lity is doing its part in cutting CO2 to bring us closer to that reality. This German-based product is on the journey to promote electrical vehicle usage to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve a more sustainable environment.

They have an app that helps users decide if an electric vehicle (EV) suits their lifestyle. Tracking trips and analyzing driving habits provides personalized EV recommendations, charging insights, and potential savings. With 1,018 users, 3 million kilometres tracked, and over 622,000 recommendations in three months, LITY makes switching to EVs easy and sustainable.

But Lity Got Stuck-Up Because of Poor Design

Despite having an amazing concept to reduce carbon emissions in the environment, their mobile application failed to convey their original motive and aim accurately. This is because their substandard design failed to attract user attention and resulted in low business generation.

That’s when the need for an experienced Product Designer Arose for Lity

To fulfil the impactful mission of contributing to a sustainable environment through promoting EVs, Lity wanted an experienced product designer who

  • Has experience working with fleet management SaaS products worldwide
  • Can join the project immediately
  • Is able to design complex workflows in a simple-to-get manner
  • Can create an aesthetically appealing UI

That is exactly how they came across Denovers, as we offer a dedicated full-time product designer to enterprises looking for experienced individuals and teams to work on their projects on a daily basis.

Interview Time

Following this, Lity wanted to interview our product designers so that they could pick one who was most suited to the role. So we offered them two of our product designers. They interviewed both of them and picked one that was better suited to their industry and niche as he had previous fleet management experience while working on “Neuron.”

And so Began Our Design Journey with Lity

So, first things first, our dedicated product designer started with the UX audit of Lity’s existing platform, and we spotted multiple issues like:

……….

………..

Keeping this in mind, our designer, in constant collaboration with Lity, came up with the idea to revamp the user experience of the entire app.

Regular Meetings with Lity for enhanced efficiency and seamless collaboration

Our dedicated product designer was in constant touch with Lity’s team throughout the design process. They had daily meetings with our product designer, who not only gave feedback on our design revamp but also shared ideas and user reviews to add new features to the application so that it becomes intuitive and modern and attracts maximum users.

As a result, our product designer worked on those ideas and showed them to Lity in meetings, looms, mood boards, Figma files, and other tools used in the design process. After getting feedback from Lity’s team and incorporating that into the flows, we only moved forward to implement the actual design. This iterative and collaborative working approach with Lity led us to create valuable designs and fleet management features for Lity.

Now, let’s have a look at the features we enhanced and introduced for Lity:

Lity’s New and Revamped Design

We worked on several screens and modules of Lity to help them achieve the desired outcome. We also integrated some new features to take Lity up a notch. Let’s have a look at all of that:

Dashboard

The dashboard is the most crucial part of an application, and we ensured all the information was displayed in a very sleek and sophisticated manner to keep the user hooked. The dashboard displayed essential metrics that were tracked by the app through car details input and GPS in a neat and easy-to-understand manner. It included

  • Histogram representation of the trips taken by the user, which could be seen in weeks, months, and years.
  • Cards showing drive distance, fuel consumption, and driven distance.
  • Users driving profile metrics in charts and sections.

Garage

We designed an innovative screen for the Garage where users could add their current combustion car, which showed essential information like vehicle and fuel expenses. Here, we gave the users an option to add up to two virtual cars, which can be easily viewed from a dropdown. The virtual car also showed a complete breakdown of necessary information, such as the remaining range and charging times. This way, users could simulate and compare both cars to see how an electric car can save their expenses per route or throughout overall trips and reduce carbon emissions in the ecosystem.

Discover

LITY also wanted a marketplace for users to see different electrical car options. To achieve this, we added the Discover screen, which displayed various model of EVs with their complete statistics, features, prices, ranges, charging times, and other necessary information.

An Innovative Module to make LITY more User-Friendly!

LITY wanted to make their application visually appealing, highly functional, and usable. As a result, we came up with a fresh module called “Stationary.” Here, the users would get essential information for their electric vehicles and trip all in one place without having to jump to different applications or browsers.

Charging Stations

A simple and clear screen infused with a map highlighting nearby charging stations for your EV. There was an option to share or get directions for any charging station when clicked. Moreover, the screen also gave complete information about the Volts and costs of charging stations.

Route Planning

We also included a screen for route planning in the module. This is where users can add their start and ending destinations to plan their route. The users also had an option to add the charging stations that were coming in between their journeys. Our designers beautifully presented every journey on a map so that users could view it easily.

Search Destination

A separate page was added for LITY’s customers to easily search for various destinations they want to cover through their electric vehicle. This way, they could effectively plan their journey without the worry of running out of charge.

Winter Theme to Give Lity’s Application a Cozy Feel

To dazzle up LITY’s application, we integrated a vibrant and cozy winter theme with minimalistic yet engaging animations throughout the application.

Outcomes

With Denovers redesign and revamp of LITY, the product saw massive user engagement, and the brand started receiving business. Moreover, our integration of modern and innovative features and modules made the app user-friendly. It also helped them secure substantive funding to further improve the application and launch new features throughout Europe to achieve a sustainable environment by promoting EV usage as a lifestyle.
